I previously had a 2003 one and that leaked from omly 1500 miles,Fiat replaced it three times and it still leaked so I got rid,now this ones the same.

If the white smoke smells of diesel. Try unplugging the lefthand connector where you measure the 7.5ohms. That controls the fuel solenoid that dumps diesel into the intake maniifold onto the flamestart pluv if it thinks its cold. If flame plug is gone or has no power unburnt diesel produces the smoke.

dorset. May 4, 2017. #1. i posted a couple of times in past regarding my Ducato 2.8 JDT cutting out occasionally when idling. Bit of a pain round town at junctions and roundabouts. Just driven from Alicante (where i live) to Yorkshire and back, and the problem seems to be far worse when the engine is cold. Once warmed up it idles fine.
Fiat Ducato motorhome 2.8 JTD from 2002 with about 58.000 miles / 95.000km. It has the famous long 5th gear installed. Within the last 6000 miles / 10.000km the following has been done: New oil filter, new fuel filter, new oil, new brake fluids, new brake cilinder. The car ways 3.5 ton when driving it.
Cruising at high speed with the aerodynamics of a brick is not good for fuel consumption either of course. Cruising at 50 or 60 is tedious but can make a huge difference. My converted Ducato 2.8 motorhome gets easily over 30mpg at "not hanging around" speeds although still in panel-van format.

Nov 26, 2013. #1. I put the MH in for a service 10 days ago. It is a Fiat 2.8 jtd 2005. They rang up and said the fuel pipe from the pump to the filter was brittle and had broken during the service. The problem is the garage cannot locate a replacement pipe. They have made a temporary repair that they say is holding but no guarantee. Jul 19, 2009. #2. the JTD just has the edge performance and economy wise , but personally I went for the TDi on the basis that any reasonable diesel mechanic can deal with it , and it is is better able to deal with dubious fuel than a common rail engine [ I visit some odd places ] you can also try some bio diesel if you want

Jan 15, 2018. #5. I believe the issue is related to the immobiliser antenna because when I removed it from the ignition barrel and pushed the key through it, the key was always recognised by the ECU. I have ordered a new antenna, so we will see what happens . (either that or the transponder is loose or on its way out).
