In that research, iSeeCars revealed that the Mazda MX-5 Miata is well-equipped to reach 200,000-300,000 miles, if you play your part by adopting a regular maintenance culture. Via Hall Mazda. J.D. Power agrees that the 2017 pint-sized roadster is undeniably reliable, with just one recall due to abrupt downshifting.
He traded it in on a LS 430 with 30,000 miles, It now has 56,000 miles and it is in the shop right now with a keyless entry problem that Lexus can't fix, and most of the time there is a warning light coming on for something. I take very good care of this car, and the last repair I did to it was VCG and OFHG about a year ago. In the whole 25-30,000 miles I’ve put on it I haven’t had any problems at all. Since that repair. I’ve owned it for about 90,000 miles. Most of those miles were put on in a short time doing highway. Drove at a reasonable speed.
Got the Mazda 6i (4cyl-2.3l) new in August 2003. Here is my upkeep list. 1. Synthetic oil since day 1 every 4k miles. 2. oil breather hose (stupid big deal: under the intake expensive labor for $0.50c of hose) issue fixed at 100k miles. 3. New Serpentine belt tensioner at 120k. 4. top (right) engine mount at 120k.

Given that the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration says that the average person drives 14,263 miles per year, you can expect your 3 Series to last 14 years or more when properly taken care of. You can count on the certified technicians in the state-of-the-art Service Center at BMW of Greenwich to help keep your BMW
You can expect the average BMW to last 150,000 to 200,000 miles with the proper attention and maintenance. This average is based on reports from experienced BMW owners, but several of those owners reported longevity up to 250,000 miles or more.
If my cars were unreliable I would have been out of them long ago and into something else. My X5 35d currently is 3 oil changes away from 300k miles and I won't be getting rid of the car anytime soon. How much farther it can go is still too early to tell. It would not be the first car I've taken past 300k miles.
Honda Civic. Again, it’s no surprise that the Honda Civic is on this list as CarsThatLast found 3,228 Civic listed for sale for $6,000 or less. Of those cars listed, 1.8 percent had more than 200,00 miles on them while seven of the cars were listed with more than 300,000 miles on the odometer.
The N54 can and often does last 200,000+ miles if you’re willing to spend enough money. If the repairs are done right the N54 can offer good reliability and longevity. You’ll just end up spending more money on repairs and maintenance than these 10-15+ year old cars and engines are worth.
In the old days 300k miles on a BMW was the norm. Now I would not buy any car past 50k miles without proof of maintenance. Not a BMW but I recently got a 2011 MB GL 350 diesel with 175k from its original owner who spent $39.5k on dealer maintenance and repairs at the dealer for the 9 years she owned it. $39.5k. Ponder that.
