1. Battery Cables If you have a battery post that looks like this, it may be keeping your Astra from starting. Start by taking a look at the battery posts. If they are loose or corroded, it acts as a barrier that can keep the starter from getting the voltage it needs to crank the engine.

Fault code is p1120- Accelerator pedal position sensor 1, input signal too high. Delphi live reading is reading a voltage of 4.89v on sensor 1 and 0.41v from sensor 2. Ive already replaced the pedal Also, last week had some look to replace the starter and crank sensor but he couldn’t get the starter off so just sensor replaced. We started the car 2 - 3 times and it fired up ok. The head Grease Monkey has now said that the new Astra H engine does not have hydraulic tappets but "shims" which look the same. He has never seen this set up before and "it's all new to me" was his comment.:sus: Apparently the new valves are tight against these shims and therefore the engine is not running correctly. With the fuse removed, you should be able to open the boot. Once the boot is open, replace the fuse. If i stop the car for 10 mins or so then start it up the temp goes off the gauge and the fan kicks in and

If you have a Leak off test done then it would eliminate the injectors, its an easy test and takes about 20 minutes, if your mate has decent diagnostic equipment and knows how to use it then ask him to watch the Ecu voltage while hot cranking, if it drops dramatically then it would prove .
